A Safe Place announces its 2008 Domestic Violence Training

This training is designed for volunteering within a domestic violence agency and community members interested in Professional Development. Join us and learn about: Societal Attitudes, Domestic Violence Laws, Legal Advocacy, Cultural Diversity, Effects of Domestic Violence on Children and much more. Join us for a rewarding and educational experience!

Training will cover:

  • DV 101

  • Substance Abuse

  • Counseling Skills

  • Teen Dating Violence

  • Oppression Justice

  • Medical Screening

  • Effects on Children

  • PTSD Prevention

  • Law Enforcement response to DV

  • Batterers Program

  • DA's Office/DV

  • Elder Abuse

  • DV Family Law

  • DV + Immigration

  • Cultural Awareness

  • Victims of Crime Program + DV Cal-Works

  • Sexual Assault

  • Restorative

  • HIV/HEP/STDs + DV Relationships

  • Suicide

Check back soon for the next scheduled training session.

Cost: $300.00 due at registration ($260 refundable after completion of a minimum of 60 volunteer hours). Other fees may apply for LIVE SCAN (background) clearance.

You must attend all sessions and complete volunteer hours to receive Domestic Violence Certification.
